Gerald Moore

Sort by:

Gerald Moore makes finds his inspiration outdoors, making his oil paintings close to nature, “but not copies of nature.” He likes to use the textures that are created by light.

He is sometimes called “an expressive realist” but he also is a fan of abstract.

Moore holds BSE and MA degrees and two-year post-Masters work from Central Michigan University. From September 1962 through June 1985 he headed the Saginaw High School Art Department. He retired from teaching in 1985 and has since devoted more time to his painting. Since 1960, he has exhibited in numerous juried art shows, both regional and national.

His work has been shown at the Dow Chemical Co. Center for the Arts, the Greater Flint (Mich.) Arts Council, the Greater Michigan Exhibition, the Dennos Museum in Traverse City, Mich., and the Flint Institute of Art.
